Find your future with us.Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is currently on contract to deliver a number of data focused projects for it's customers. These include delivering a state of the art enterprise data warehouse solution that will enable improved analytics whilst maintaining support for legacy Cognos reporting suites. The new technology stack is an Oracle database, with Oracle ODI and HVR for data integration. Cognos and PowerBI will be used to provide reporting and dashboarding.The successful candidate will be working as part of a team to support the build and then maintain the operational availability of the data warehouse.ResponsibilitiesMigration of database schemas & data from the existing warehouse using tools such as ODI and HVRDevelopment of SQL routines to import new data feeds into existing data modelsTransfer and rebuilding of Cognos reportsSustainment of the live ODI environment including monitoring performance, ensuring data quality and resolving issuesEnsure adequate performance and minimal downtime of Cognos environments carrying out daily checks as requiredEnsure customer Incidents & Service Requests are resolved within prescribed Service Level Agreement’sDevelop data models in Framework Manager along with reports and dashboards in Cognos AnalyticsMonitoring and support of the Cognos-based IBII (Integrated Business Intelligence Infrastructure) environmentsPerforms research and analysis on processes, applications, systems and data to identify functional requirements for application or system design. Consults with customers to clarify and refine requirements. Interprets and translates requirements into functional specifications. Develops and executes tests to validate system functionality against specifications.ExperienceKnowledge and experience of building ODI routines and maintaining a live ODI installationCognos 8/10/11 Server Administration - advantageousCognos Framework Manager and Report Studio - advantageousExperience with Relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL (experience of No-SQL databases a plus)Experience with visualisation tools Tableau/Power BI or other analytics toolsets is a plusDetail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication skillsOtherWillingness and aptitude to learn new toolsWork collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to interact effectively with other groups in the organizationWillingness and eligibility to obtain SC ClearanceRequired to do rostered on-callAll information provided will be checked and may be verified.Important information regarding this requisition: This position does not have sponsorship approval.
